Swim Band Program

Child safety in our pool is important to us at the Mid-Shore Family YMCA.  For this reason, we require anyone under the age of 18 to wear a swim band indicating their swimming ability level.  A green band is issued upon successful completion of the swim test.  Please see a lifeguard or the Aquatics Director for more details.  A red band is issued to those who are shallow-water competent.  Children with a red band will be permitted to swim/play in the shallow water where they can readily regain their footing.  Any child under 48" that is issued a red band, must be within an arm's length of an actively attentive parent or adult caregiver who is in the water with the child.  Thank you for helping us keep your child safe in our pool.
