Shore Family YMCA, Pocomoke City, Maryland
Camp Description: is
the ultimate in day camping; an action-packed, adventure-filled summer
experience designed to help develop competence in camp and life skills.
Camp is located on over 106 acres, YMCA Camp Pilamaya is eight 1 week sessions
specifically geared to 5-12 year olds with age-based exciting activities.
Daily opportunities to learn the art of cooperation and to make good choices
offer an ideal setting for character development. Attention to physical
fitness, education programs and the uplifting qualities of nature remain the
foundation of YMCA Camp Pilamaya.
Camp days are filled with both land
and water activities. Mornings are devoted to "specialty schools" or
"adventure activities" - activities designed to teach new skills and increase
self-confidence. Afternoons come alive with swimming and recreational
activities designed to build group unity and individual character. Each
camper group travels through the most popular camp activities, building
teamwork, cooperation and lasting friendships. Counselors circle the
campers at day's end with reflection and giving out character awards.
Adventure Activities:

Camp Crafts - Craft projects
that including painting, beading and just doodling.

Wet & Wild - Canoeing,
kayaking, water games, The Blob and of course the Wet Willie Water Slide.

Playoff Madness - Capture
the flag, volleyball, four-square and tetherball.

Wilderness Survival Skills -
Archery, fire building and outdoor life skills.

Challenge Course - Team
building elements, climbing wall, repelling, zip line rides and high element
bridges.
Specialty Schools:

Team Sports - Basketball,
field hockey, soccer, flag football and whiffle ball.

Leadership 101 - Team
building, ground initiatives, problem solving and cooperative games.

Wild Kingdom - Study of
nature as it is found in our woods and ponds.

The Entertainers - Clowning,
mime, slapstick comedy and skits.

Field Trips: There
will be two field trips offered during weeks 5 and 7. The destination,
day of the week and the additional fee will be announced once all the details
are finalized.
Bus Transportation:
Bus transportation will be provided for weeks 3 and 4 from the Mid-Shore
Family YMCA for an additional $25.00 per week per camper. The bus leaves
from the Mid-Shore Branch in Salisbury at 7:45 a.m. for YMCA Camp Pilamaya.
Camp Overnights: Two
overnights have been scheduled for Camp. Both will begin in the evening
once camp has completed for the day and will not be over until 8:00 a.m. the
next morning. Theses overnights are open only to YMCA Camp Pilamaya
Campers registered for camp that week. There is also an additional fee
of $10.00 per camper for the overnight.

Family Days: Parents
and siblings can experience the fun and excitement of Lake Pilamaya during our
popular Family Days. Families are invited to swim, slide, fish, canoe,
kayak, play games and picnic. These days are reserved for families of
YMCA Camp Pilamaya and Family Members of the Lower Shore and Mid-Shore Family
YMCAs. An adult must accompany all children. Only $10.00 per
family for a whole day of family activities!
