The Mid-Delmarva Family YMCA has played an important role in the community for
many years. Thousands of children and families have taken part in our
character building programs and services focusing on caring, honesty, respect
and responsibility. Today, the YMCA's commitment remains as
strong as ever before, as we strive to carry out our vision to build strong
kids, strong families and strong communities.
Presently, our association serves nearly 12,000
members at our two branches. The
Mid-Shore Branch is located in Salisbury,
Maryland and the
Lower
Shore Branch
is located in Pocomoke City, Maryland. Our team of dedicated staff and
committed volunteers have developed an aggressive strategic plan for the
future which includes the development of a third branch serving the
Chincoteague, VA area called the
Chincoteague Island
Family Branch.
In addition, programming will be expanded focusing on teen development, health
and fitness, family activities and volunteer development.
Activate
Delmarva
is our local community
collaboration initiative in response to our nation's health crisis. We
are redefining ourselves and engaging community partnerships throughout the
tri-county Delmarva Peninsula to better support residents of all ages who are
struggling to achieve and maintain well-being of spirit, mind and body.
We are all very excited about what lies ahead as we work together to take this
YMCA into what looks to be an exciting future of service to the community.
